It's almost 2015, and I assume that nothing major is going to happen in the next 2 days, so here is the Merrill family's year in review!
2014 begins with a health scare; Jen bleeding in the
ER. Doctors say it’s nothing.
Cliff and Jen go to Jacksonville for Mom’s birthday! We also stop by EPCOT and Universal Studios.
Lexa turns 3. She
hugged every one of her presents.
Elizabeth turns 9. She loved her birthday party and all the
attention it brought her.
Ellowyn starts nursery with no problems. It helps that Lexa is right there with her.
Lexa potty-trains herself in about a week. Now there’s one more person clogging the
toilets.
Elizabeth scores a basket during her second basketball
game! Unfortunately it didn’t count
because she travelled.
We went to visit Marianne and Nathan’s family. It was as delicious as always.
Jen gets super excited about a clothing sale by her favorite
designer. Cliff thinks she may have been
abducted by aliens and replaced with a Jen-like stand-in.
Jen’s dear Grandpa Don passed away. The best part was that Mom and Dad were able
to spend a week with us. Lexa was the
happiest; she cried whenever they had to leave.
We find out we’re expecting baby #5! Due this coming February!
Catherine turns six!
She has a Frozen-themed birthday party with blocks of ice in the pool.
Jen’s work location is changed to the Test Site. She will be helping with updating drawings in
one of the secure facilities.
We move to a new rental house near Cheyenne and Fort
Apache. We were very grateful to have
lots of help. It started out rocky, but
slowly came together.
The girls start school; Elizabeth in 4th grade,
Catherine in 1st grade, and Lexa in speech therapy.
Jen celebrates her first 39th birthday at her
favorite restaurant, The Melting Pot.
Jen’s work location changes back to NLV when the funding
runs out for her project. Glad to be
back, but back to nothing to do at work.
Ellowyn is 2 years old! She seems so much older because she
copies her sisters so much.
Cliff runs the Avengers Half Marathon at Disneyland. One of the highlights was saying “On your
left” when passing a runner dressed as Captain America.
Took one final swim in Mom and Dad’s pool on the day after
Thanksgiving. Lots of memories there!
Cliff turns 42, discovers the meaning to life, the universe,
and everything.
Christmastime! Everyone
gets sick except Jen. It put a bit of a
damper on our activities, but thankfully everyone was well enough for Christmas
Day.
Next year, we will welcome a new little girl to our family and probably everything will be downhill from there. Happy New Year!

This is great! I should probably write down ours too, except I can't remember what I did yesterday, let alone a year ago. Haha!
Kind of hard to beat the birth of a baby as the highlight of the year. :)
